We decided amongst the beautiful yet monotonous nature of life lately, that it was time for a quick getaway with our fabulous neighbors. The beach is the obvious choice since it's close, there's a lot to do, and of course there's an amazing outlet mall. It's important when you book a getaway to the beach in the dead of winter that you get a view, just in case you never actually make it down to the water. After an intense amount of research I found a gorgeous town house with a hot tub that ended up being cheaper than a hotel. We love hanging out with our neighbors and decided after this trial run that more vacations are definitely in our future. Our kids are around the same age and have similar schedules which always makes it easier. Ben and Chris spent some quality time at the casino and Anne and I enjoyed massages. Ava and John lived for every moment in the hot tub and watched movies until 1am in their beach loft. Ian and Willa redecorated the house, body dusted the furniture, narrowly escaped death on the stairs, followed their big sibs around, survived windy trips to the beach in the backpack, and discovered a mutual passion for m & m's. I decided that trips to the beach are good for the soul, whether it's 30 or 80 degrees outside.
