We are enjoying a quiet Saturday morning today and captured this sweet sibling moment on video.

Blessed Assurance

  1. Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
    Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
    Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
    Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
    • Refrain:
      This is my story, this is my song,
      Praising my Savior all the day long;
      This is my story, this is my song,
      Praising my Savior all the day long.
  2. Perfect submission, perfect delight,
    Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
    Angels, descending, bring from above
    Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
  3. Perfect submission, all is at rest,
    I in my Savior am happy and blest,
    Watching and waiting, looking above,
    Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

Tea Time

Before Ian was born Ava and I had a pretty good routine going. One of my favorite times of the day was tea time. We toast up some breakfast treat that I had made and frozen, and enjoy chatting and drinking our tea. Today we reinstituted tea time and it feels good! Like we're surviving, even with a newborn around. To quote Ava's favorite phrase, "Cheers!"

Leaving blond behind

So I went back to my natural haircolor a couple weeks ago. It was accidental. I went in for more blond and FOUR hours later came out as a brunette. The hairstylist was a little scatterbrained and actually really fun to hang out with. I think she panicked when she realized how long it was taking and that I needed to get home to feed my 2 week old son. Anyway, I was a little horrified when I looked in the mirror and didn't recognize myself. I came home and cried. The funny thing was that only two people noticed. My parents didn't even mention it. She offered to have me come back and she would redo it for free. But I figure if I can save a few hundred dollars every 6 months I might as well. I have a sneaky suspicion that people think I look different, in a bad way, and can't put their finger on what it is and are too nice to say anything. But I'm actually getting used to it and somedays I even like it. Maybe this is the start of something new...

Firsts

I am starting a blog...actually it's a secret blog. Just for me to record my thoughts on life and motherhood and cooking and being married to a strange and hilarious man. I should be taking a nap... :)
