Recap, family visits, and Is today Monday?

Well I'm experiencing a fair amount of shock as I peek down at my calendar icon and see June 20. I'll admit that I happily don't know what day of the week it is. These days are measured by the comings and goings of friends and family. We've had a steady stream of visitors and as my 400 pictures download I am overcome with thankfulness and a sense of blessing. Our time has been full and this is only a stolen moment as Ben takes his parents to the airport and the sheets get washed for my sister's stay tonight. And as I hear Ian's morning coo's I know my time is limited. Mostly my days have been filled with planning morning breakfast, fun outings, and trying to keep the house from looking like were auditioning for Hoarders, but here are a few specific glimpses into our last three weeks:

We celebrated our last day with Miss Willa Mae by having a picnic and enjoying juice with our lunch. It was quite the celebration. We loved taking care of Willa while her brave Mama recovered from open heart surgery. Thankfully, she has made a full recovery and can finally move on with adopting Willa's new birth sister from Korea! We can't wait to meet Katherine in December.
Ian loved supervising my parent's construction project but mostly wanted to make sure Grampa didn't stray too far away from him.
We spent a gorgeous day at the park by our church and enjoyed catching up with friends. Ava and Hannah are quite the buddies and should both be swimsuit models.
Ian was so excited when Gigi and Papa came for a visit. He welcomed them with hugs and kisses and his deepest sign of affection, drool.
Showing off his fish kisses to Gigi.
This is a typical scene from our day. We visited three Nordstrom Rack's in three different counties, in addition to the many Ross's, Marshall's, and TJ Maxx's. Because you will get a disappointing glance if you spend more than $4.99 for that top. Four generations of professional discount shoppers.
We headed to the beach for a few days and had a fabulous time chasing waves, eating, watching movies, digging in the sand, s'mores, and of course more shopping.
Ben walked Ava down to the tidepools where she got to hold a giant purple starfish. The downside of the Oregon beach water is that you will die of hypothermia if you swim in it for more than 10 minutes. The upside is the beauty and that my four year old daughter can walk down onto the rocks at low tide and pick up a starfish the size of her head.
And finally we spent this past week with Ben's parents, where we were spoiled on a daily basis and enjoyed a lot of laughter and many hours visiting with warm cups of tea. I cannot say enough about how wonderful my in laws are. I am so thankful for our time together and love that after each visit I feel encouraged, challenged, and tangibly cared for.
Our last night was spent researching hotels for our upcoming family trip to Victoria BC. We really should be an advertisement for Apple products.
Another successful trip with Yeh Yeh and Nai Nai.
